Moniker Art Fair 2010
Fed up with mainstream art galleries, classical or contemporary works? Try something else: streetart.
You can go hunting in the streets of Shoreditch to find little gems. Or you can try the Moniker Art Fair starting on October 12.The event aims at highlighting this alternative movement and bring the finer side of urban art closer to you. No effort, no braving the rain: pure amazement. It is also the occasion to step in the underground village – a trendy location: a vast Victorian warehouse with a ten meter high, skylight studded ceiling, and a pair of vaulted brick arches.
Leading galeries such as Black Art Press will be present. Even better, there will be 6 exciting project spaces. Guess who will be contributing? Steve Powers, Herakut, Katrin Fridiks, Ben Eine (whose work is hanging in the White House - you can also go to Middlesex street to see his alphabet painted on 26 shop shutters), Titi Freak and Polly Morgan. There will be some live painting too – have a look at the programme!
No need to book, just turn up on the day and the event is entirely FREE!
Free, Thurs 14-17th Oct 2010, see programme here for opening times, 54 Holywell Lane, Shoreditch, London, EC2A 3PQ, Map, Website
