Portobello Film Festival

Posted 19 Sep 2010

The Portobello Film Festival runs from 2nd – 19th September, with all events being a recession-busting FREE FREE FREE! This fantastic fortnight (and a bit) showcases some of London’s hottest artists and filmmakers as well as screening some big studio films and premiering hundreds (yes you heard me, HUNDREDS!) of brand spanking new short films.

The exciting and wide-ranged array of events scheduled include Bad Taste nights, artists choice showcases (featuring the favourite films of artists such as Blek Le Rat – “the godfather of stencil graffiti art”), family film screenings, a BYO films Video Café, silent films with live musical accompaniment and much, much more, all culminating in a flashy awards ceremony open to all at the Portobello Pop Up on 19th September.

Some events will be at the Pop Up Cinema (where the Westway meets Portobello Road), Inn on the Green or other venues dotted around the Portobello/Notting Hill area; but most of the screenings will be at the Westbourne Studios.

Whether you’re a general film aficionado or a genre-loving devotee of comedy, drama, music films, world cinema or animation – you’ll find something to tickle your fancy at the Portobello Film Festival.
