b.Supreme Festival @The Southbank Centre

Who says only boys are into Hip Hop? Defintely not anyone going to b.Supreme! b.Supreme is the UK’s festival for girls into Hip Hop. Over Easter weekend, you can join & watch battles, break dances & performances, ending with a FREE performance by Ms Dynamite on Sunday.
Its been running for four years now and is well supported by professional dancers, breakers and rappers all over. I cannot reccomend this event enough, and it’s something i’m looking forward to. For all the entertainment you get, you alomst feel like you’re robbing the b.Supreme collective!

2nd/3rd April (TICKET £13):
- 7.45 b.Supreme Launch show: You’ll need to buy tickets for this event first, but it is well worth it. On Friday, watch the UK’s finest acts in Hip Hop, usually left in the shadows on mainstream US hip hop, these great acts are given a chance to shine. On Saturday watch performances from loads of professionals from all over the world.
Saturday 3rd April (ALL FREE):
In the Clore Ballroom
- 11am All the Ladies Say: Watch the first UK screening of Legendary US Bgirl Rokafella’s documentary, ‘All The Ladies Say’. Its a documentary about the lives of six iconic female street dancers from San Jose, Atlanta, Miami and Chicago, who have carved a niche in the physically challenging, male dominated breakdance world.
The screening is followed by Q&A session with Director Rokafella (NYC) and featured bgirl Vendetta (Atlanta). - 1pm Breaking workshop: Join Rokafella for a unique chance to learn footwork skills from the very best dancers. People all ages are welcome.
- 2.15pm Waacking Battle: Witness history with a performance of the first all-female Waakking battle in the UK. The performance features the US ‘Waackers’ from LA. It’ll be well worth a look see!
- 4pm Popping Battle: A performance of professional all female body poppers, from Sweden, you’ll see lots of popping, locking & weaving!
Sunday 4th April (ALL FREE):
In the Clore Ballroom
- 11am Waacking workshop: Learn the basics of how to ‘Waack’ frm the US compny the ‘Waackers’
- 12pm Popping workshop: A workshop with French popper, Cathy Nguyen. People of all ages are welcome
- 1pm 2 on 2 B-Girl Battle: The best B-girls from around the world show off their footwork and skills in a fast paced battle
- 2.15pm Open Ciphers: The Clore Ballroom is open to anyone wanting to show their skills & Jam to the music
- 3.15pm Bonnie & Clyde: Not to be missed! The very best male & female dancers join forces on the dance floor
- 4.30pm: International Exhibition Battle: Watch the best UK and international dancers showoff their best battle moves in a friendly battle.
- 5pm Ms Dynamite: The UK rapper herself takes the stage for a free performance.
