Out and about in central London looking for some yummy hot food to fend off the big freeze? Try the yummy noodles at Cha Cha Moon for under a tenner. This cosy and chic eatery is just off Carnaby Street, a three minutes’ walk from Piccadilly Circus tube station / Regent Street.

I like to go there for a quick noodle fix after meeting friends or shopping at Oxford Street. Service at Cha Cha Moon noodle bar (owned by Wagamama’s boss) is efficient and the place is always bustling with people. While prices have risen somewhat since it first opened in 2008, the menu is still highly affordable especially when compared to the surrounding alternatives and offers choices of soup noodles or stir-fried noodles at around £6. Portions served are satisfying and vegetarian options (albeit limited) are available. My favourite is the Taiwan beef noodle (£6). Try the lovely Cha Cha mooli (Chinese turnip cakes) for £4.

It is also one of the few places in London that serves authentic Hong Kong milk tea. A classic. Try to avoid going there at rush hours as it tends to get very crowded with locals and tourists!
